Our equine therapy program has been running from an open-air round pen for nearly four years. Rain, heat, and cold have forced us to cancel sessions, turn people away, and leave healing on the table. We are changing that.

The St. James Peace Ground will be a covered, open-sided rectangular structure approximately 65 feet by 80 feet with a 14-foot eave height. It will permanently shelter our existing 60-foot round pen and create a covered gathering space for veterans, first responders, and their families. Sessions will run in any weather, any season.

The St. James Peace Ground was made possible by a generous anonymous donor who dedicated this gift in honor of Santiago, Saint James, whose path has guided pilgrims toward healing and renewal for centuries. At Charlie Mike, we believe every veteran and first responder deserves that same journey. This is their ground.

A generous anonymous donor has made a transformative lead gift toward the structural cover. That gift has launched this project. We are now seeking additional partners to complete the structure and bring the full vision to life. Every giving opportunity below carries a permanent naming right.

Battle Buddies Kennel Facility

Charlie Mike rescues dogs from shelters, trains them to a therapy companion level, and places them free of charge with veterans and first responders. We call them Battle Buddies. Each placement saves two lives: one dog and one veteran or first responder.

We have completed over 51 placements in three years operating without a dedicated facility. A purpose-built kennel would allow us to grow the program, house more dogs during training, support disaster relief storage, and give every dog the environment it deserves.

Volunteer at the Farm

There is always something to do at CharlieMike Farm. Whether you come alone, with a group, or with your company or organization, your time makes a direct difference. Groups of 5 to 20 are welcome. No experience required for most projects. Show up ready to work and we will take care of the rest.

Mowing and Weed Eating

We always need help keeping the property maintained. Zero-turn mowers and a tractor are on site. If you can run equipment, you are exactly who we need.

Dog Area Deep Clean

Clean kennels, crates, and igloos. Remove leaves and debris. Apply our dog-safe weed control mixture of vinegar, soap, and salt throughout the dog area.

Deck Cleaning and Staining

The deck surrounding the Battle Buddies sleeping quarters needs seasonal pressure washing and staining. Materials are on site. Just bring the muscle.

Fence and Tree Safety

Inspect fencing across the property. Remove branches and leaning trees that could damage fences, especially near the pasture by the creek after storms.

Driveway and Pathways

Redistribute and compact gravel along the farm driveway. Define edges around the roundabout and pathways. Tractor with grading attachment ideal.

Garden Bed Adoption

The farm has approximately 15 garden beds available for adoption. Plant vegetables, herbs, or flowers. Keep or donate what you grow. Just leave care instructions between visits.

Headquarters Landscaping

Mulch has been donated. We need hands to spread it and help maintain the landscaping around the headquarters building on an ongoing basis.

Electrical Projects

Install lighting on the barn, in the parking area, and on the American flag and roundabout flag poles. Licensed electricians especially welcome.

Dog Enrichment Course

Help build and improve our obstacle and training course. Add tires, agility features, a stick library, and a ball station. Repurposed playground equipment is perfect here.

Future Vision
Dream Projects

Charlie Mike is always growing. These are the bigger visions we are dreaming toward. Spaces and structures that would transform what this farm can do for veterans and first responders. Every one is a potential naming opportunity. If one of these speaks to you or your company, we would love to have that conversation.

Barn Expansion

Additional stalls, expanded storage, and improved facilities for our nine horses and growing equine therapy program. As we serve more veterans and first responders, we need more capacity for the animals that make the healing possible.

Have an idea that is not on this list?

We are open. If you have a vision for something that could improve the farm, grow the mission, or help more veterans and first responders, reach out. Some of our best ideas have come from people who simply showed up and saw something we had not yet imagined.
